1 May - Day of (unpaid) care work in Bielefeld

Aktuelles – 02. June 2019
As in previous years, the regional Care Revolution group was once again represented with a block at the 1 May demonstration. This year, we left the demonstration halfway through to continue to Bielefeld Hospital together with the block of the Bielefeld alliance for more staff in hospitals and the alliance of the feminist women*queer strike. Here we demonstrated with around 70 people in front of the main entrance to the hospital in favour of good conditions for taking on caring work and in particular for more staff in the hospital. We read out the declaration of the Bielefeld alliance for more staff in hospitals, talked to patients and staff and distributed the alliance declaration in the hospital. After half an hour, we moved on together to set up the Care Revolution stand in Ravensberger Park and, together with the young people from Fridays for Future, commented loudly on Armin Laschet's speech.
