Care Revolution Rhine-Neckar takes part in the Easter march in Heidelberg

The Care Revolution Rhein Neckar network called for the Heidelberg Easter March 2023 on 8 April 2023, which was entitled: Win the peace - not the war! Disarm! Abolish nuclear weapons! Save the climate!

The call for the Heidelberg Easter March continues: "War has been raging in over 30 countries for years. Economic blackmail, blockades and trade wars are destroying economic and ecological livelihoods worldwide. More and more people are fleeing because of war, poverty and environmental destruction. Another war has broken out in Ukraine, with dramatic consequences for Europe and the whole world and the real danger of it escalating into a third world war."

Heidi Flassak, representing Netzwerk Care Revolution, emphasised, as did other speakers, that everything humanly possible must be done to end the dying and suffering in Ukraine as soon as possible. And negotiations can contribute to this, even at this point in time.

She quoted, among other things, a contribution by Colombian Vice President Francia Márquez from this year's Munich Security Conference: "It is no good continuing to argue about who loses and who wins in a war. We have all lost, and whoever loses in a war is humanity. It's not about positioning ourselves on the side of one of the warring parties, so it's not about beating Russia or Ukraine. We are against war, because war has always destroyed humanity".

"Old guidelines for the militarisation of life," continued Márquez, "do not fit the needs of the world. We need a new world order that puts life at the centre." The entire speech can be read here.
