'Who Cares' dialogue series in Heidelberg

Aktuelles – 10. June 2025

'Who Cares' series of talks organised by Care Revolution Rhein/Neckar

Who takes care of the household, organises everyday life, cares, listens - and who notices? Care work is everywhere: in families, in friendships, in neighbourhoods, in care, in social professions. It keeps our society running, but often remains invisible and un(under)paid.

At the open discussion evenings, we want to talk together about experiences, challenges and possible changes. What does care work mean for each and every one of us? How can it be distributed more fairly and better recognised? What political and social changes are needed?

We cordially invite you to join us for an exchange and joint reflection over snacks and drinks. We talk, listen and strengthen ourselves. Everyone is welcome - whether with their own experiences, questions or just to listen.

This is the concept behind the 'Who Cares' series of talks organised by Care Revolution Rhein/Neckar, which started on 15 May. An impression from the first round of talks sent to us by the organisers:

"I'm a big fan of individual assistance for severely disabled people by assistants because it enables me to live a good life with equal rights despite my disability. I don't feel disadvantaged," says Michaela Schadeck at the end of a really great, very entertaining and informative evening about her life story and her work as Managing Director of Individual Assistance in Heidelberg.
It becomes clear how important it is that we as a society give all people the opportunity to lead a good and equal life.
The fact that the conditions for this are currently particularly dependent on the cash situation of local authorities also leads above all to the desire to create standardised structures and funding opportunities at federal level.
For the Care Revolution Rhine-Neckar network, this was a very successful start to our "Who cares" series of talks about care work in our society.

We will continue on 16 July with Hassan Albatran, carer and amateur actor, as our guest.

You can contact the regional group here: rhein-neckar@care-revolution.org. And of course at the discussion evening!
