Sea of lights for inclusion in Frankfurt/Main on 1.11.24

Aktuelles – 28. October 2024 – Action

A joint lantern walk for children and adults, whether on foot or in a wheelchair, is being organised in Frankfurt/Main again this year. The aim is to experience something beautiful together without having to think too much about the fact that the participants have different ways of getting around. Perhaps this will - beyond the experience of this day - make you want to create the conditions to break down barriers in everyday life too!

The Care Revolution Rhine-Main network and the Solidarisch Sorgen e.V. association invite you to take part.

Meeting point:

Friday, 1 November 2024, from 16h30 in front of the Historical Museum
Saalhof 1, 60311 Frankfurt am Main
Information on how to get there: here

Procedure:

Gather at the museum from 16:30, (weatherproof clothing), bring lanterns, glow sticks, LED lights, fairy lights, batteries etc. - NOTHING BURNABLE PLEASE!

Older children and adults who do not want to walk with a lantern can transform themselves or their wheelchair into a luminous "object" - there are no limits to creativity - there are great fairy lights available

Short speeches at 5pm, then start

Run to the cathedral, through the old town to Braubachstraße and across Paulsplatz to the Römer.

THE RUN WILL NOT TAKE PLACE IN STORMY WEATHER, BUT IT WILL IF IT RAINS!

In 2011, the Sea of Lights campaign was initiated in Hamburg by the organisations nestwärme e.V. and Nicos Farm e.V.. We have taken over this campaign in Frankfurt.
