Care Revolution network meeting - online, full of life and back next autumn

Aktuelles – 03. May 2021
A total of 36 people from the network and interested parties took part in our network meeting on 24 and 25 April. Some only had time for part of the weekend, but overall it was an event with a really good turnout. The fact that there were people from so many different cities was particularly nice and encouraging. The meeting was a mixture of substantive discussions and organisational agreements. On the one hand, the discussions centred on the situation of and cooperation with migrant workers in the care sector. An activist from Arbeitslosenselbsthilfe Oldenburg gave us valuable input here. Secondly, we looked at the care movement that is gradually emerging. We invited representatives from the Feminist Strike Alliance and the Düsseldorf Health Alliance. In addition, we repeatedly focussed on the 'Space for Care' campaign that we initiated. This constellation also shows how the care movement is growing together: In some cities, the 'Platz für Sorge' campaigns were strongly supported by the Feminist Strike, and local health alliances are also involved. The resolutions and agreements were also about becoming more capable of taking action. The motions that were passed should help us to intervene more quickly, including at a national level; our internet and social media presence and educational programmes should become more attractive. We are optimistic and don't want to wait another year for the next meeting, but rather hold the next meeting in autumn. We would be delighted if you could join us.
