Our feminism is anti-racist - 4000 demonstrated in Cologne

Under the slogan "Our feminism is anti-racist - Reclaim feminism!", more than 4,000 participants marched through Cologne city centre on 12 March 2016. For the first time, a broad alliance, which was also supported by the Care Revolution network, mobilised for World Women's Day in Cologne. The participants felt a strong need to reclaim the space denied to them by the media and politics as victims of sexualised violence, sexism and racism. They wanted to make their own voices and perspectives visible. They sent out a signal that they will not allow themselves to be instrumentalised by the media and politics for racist incitement and racist politics.
