Our initiative was founded at its first meeting on 19 January 2015 and has been campaigning for an unconditional basic income here in the Rhine-Main region ever since.

We want to celebrate this on Saturday, 27 September, 4pm - 2pm at Saalbau Gallus, Frankenallee 111, 60326 Frankfurt (near the "Galluswarte" stop).(Map)

Here is the preliminary programme, we are still working on the details:

The German-Swiss post-patriarchal theologian Dr Ina Praetorius will give a substantive input followed by a discussion. She was on the initiative committee for the Swiss referendum on an unconditional basic income in 2016, which made waves around the world (even though "only" around 23% of those who voted were in favour). She believes that we need to rethink work, in particular the many unpaid jobs that are mainly done by women and are simply necessary, and free the people who do them from having to worry about their livelihood. She also criticises the many "bullshit jobs" (David Graeber), i.e. (sometimes even well) paid work that is unnecessary or harmful.

There will probably be live music from two choirs (including the "Kritische Stimmen" under the direction of Ute Christmann).

An improvisation theatre group will play with the idea of the BGE.

Last but not least, there will be good food and good conversation.
