No Lager for Women!

RENEWED CALL: "NO CAMPS FOR WOMEN! ABOLISH ALL CAMPS!"Saturday, 7 March 2015, 14°° Potsdam Central Station Demo and protest action in front of the state parliament building As we celebrate International Women's Day 2015, we want to take a close look at how the state government of Brandenburg and the federal government of Germany treat us: In recent years, we have repeatedly called on them to at least give women and children the opportunity to move out of the camps. Nevertheless, we see that the local authorities are being given money to expand existing isolated camps and that new camps are being added to those already in existence. We see no change in our situation: the minimum square metres allocated to asylum seekers is still 6 square metres per person. We are still often marginalised by being housed in remote accommodation and are therefore at the mercy of racist attacks. We are still rarely given the opportunity to live in private flats like other people. And with a change in building law, the construction of camps in industrial estates is now also permitted. Refugee women suffer the most from this. This is because women are usually the ones who feel responsible for organising everyday life for the whole family under such inhumane living conditions. THIS IS WHY WE ARE RENEWING OUR CALL: "NO CAMPS FOR WOMEN! ABOLISH ALL CAMPS!" WE DEMAND FROM THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT: End the backward-looking deterrence policy of the 1990s, which aims to prevent refugees from entering Germany or to force them to return! We demand from the state governments: Issue nationwide regulations that instruct counties and districts to accommodate refugees in flats - especially women and children! We demand from the local authorities: Integrate refugees into your counties and districts by giving them the opportunity to live in flats - wherever they want! TO ALL REFUGEE WOMEN: LET US TOGETHER DEMAND A HUMAN DIGNIFYING LIFE FOR ALL! To all women's organisations, feminist organisations, to all anti-racist and human rights organisations: Support us and our demands!
