In November, the university hospitals in Baden-Württemberg, including Freiburg University Hospital, used legal means to prevent the strike. However, on 14 December 2017, 500 employees went on strike after renewed negotiations failed. The employers' offer: 100 jobs to be shared between the state's four university hospitals. The demonstration by employees and potential patients with around 1,200 participants ended with a rally organised by the alliance "Relief now - South Baden for more hospital staff". Care Revolution Freiburg is also involved in this alliance, which also supports the employees' industrial action from the position of potential patients.
