Care block at Freiburg climate strike demo

Platz für Sorge Freiburg was represented with a care block at the climate strike demonstration organised by Fridays for Future on 24.9.21. This demonstration was a complete success with around 12,000 participants. The Care block, which was mainly made up of activists from the Solidarity Healthcare Network and Care Revolution, was rather small, but we were able to spread our message with banners, posters and our own flyer: Living in a heated world in which people are increasingly deprived of their livelihoods makes caring for one another less and less possible. On the other hand, a society that focuses on caring for one another will be much more compatible with a radical reduction in greenhouse gas emissions than an economy geared towards capital valorisation, growth and individualised consumption. This is why care and climate struggles ultimately aim for the same social change, and we will endeavour to make regular joint appearances in the future.
