Care Revolution network meeting on 21-22 October 2017 in Frankfurt/Main

Aktuelles – 25. October 2017
Around 25 people from many places in Germany and Switzerland came together in Frankfurt in October 2017 for the supra-regional networking of the Care Revolution. The main topic of this meeting was "Care Revolution and a decent livelihood", which was prepared by the Rhine-Main regional group and the cooperation partners from the Basic Income Network. On Saturday evening, there was a well-attended public event with around 50 people. There, activists from various movements (Care Revolution, trade union, Attac) presented and discussed their various positions on the demand for a basic income (insights can be found in a video here). The next day, the discussion was continued in a small group at the network meeting. The pros and cons of basic income concepts were discussed in a productive debate. It was noted that the Care Revolution Network sees itself as a bundling of emancipatory approaches within the care movement and the basic income movement. A Care & Basic Income working group was set up to continue this debate. The network meeting was used to exchange ideas in the various working groups (finance, education, public relations, campaign) and reports from the regions provided insights into the diverse activities in different places. The plan for a network campaign was further concretised. A campaign is to be developed in 2018 in coordination with the regional groups and will have a high-profile highlight in 2019. The next network meeting will take place in Leipzig in April 2018.
