New foundation - Care Revolution Leipzig!

We kicked off the founding of the Care Revolution Leipzig regional group with almost 30 people. We started by getting to know each other and familiarising ourselves with the basic ideas of the Care Revolution. We talked about making care work visible and asked ourselves the question: "What are we actually working for if not to fulfil our needs?". Using the Charité strike and the childcare workers' strike as examples, we looked at positive examples of how people are intervening in the care sector and achieving success. In the next step, we put our own ideas for the Care Revolution on paper and exchanged them in small discussion groups. The areas of interest are diverse: from considerations for an education conference in Leipzig at the end of the year to an exchange on the influence of wage labour in the distribution of roles during parenthood to actions on 8 March (Women's Struggle Day) & 1 May (Invisible Labour Day), everything was included. We want to continue discussing our broad collection of ideas at our next meeting and see where our journey as a regional group takes us: Where do we want to become active, get involved, support, take action? Our second meeting will take place on Wednesday, 22 February 2017 from 18:00 at the Pöge-Haus in Leipzig. Everyone is cordially invited - you can join at any time!
