Leipzig

The Leipzig regional group was founded at the beginning of 2017. After a break due to the coronavirus pandemic, we started up again in 2023 with new members and a lot of energy and enthusiasm. We are interested in analysing and criticising the present, a vision of a better future and working on ideas on how we can get from one to the other #transformationstrategies.

That's what we're currently working on:

In terms of content, we are currently working on the topic of caring cities and the question of how we can fill this concept with content and action in Leipzig. We also organise a neighbourhood breakfast buffet (FrüBü) every last Sunday of the month at HinzundKunz in Altlindenau (10 a.m. - 1 p.m.). Another important focus of our work is networking: with a view to the Care Strike 2027, we are working with other feminist actors and networking with groups in Leipzig as well as in Saxony and Thuringia that are active on care and feminist issues.

Past projects:

• As a regional group, we played a leading role in organising the network's anniversary celebrations, which took place in Leipzig in autumn 2024.

• The care working group focussed on the situation in hospitals and care for the elderly. In order to work towards improved care conditions, it accompanied and supported strikes in hospitals and intervened in the political discourse on the topic of care with high-profile campaigns.

• The Education/Conference working group organised a MitMachKonferenz, which took place in Leipzig from 17 to 19 November 2017. There were lectures, workshops, panel discussions and much more on the topic of care.

Get involved:
We currently meet every fortnight on Thursday evenings in the west of Leipzig or online. We are an open group and are always happy to welcome interested people. Our meetings take place in a friendly, relaxed and sometimes funny atmosphere. We also try to put the topic of care into practice - snacks and tea are always provided. No previous experience is required, just drop us an email!
