Speech by Care Revolution Rhein-Main on International Women's Day 2026 in Offenbach/Main

The website editors would like to thank the Rhine-Main regional group for making their contribution to the Offenbach Women's March available tous !

On behalf of Care Revolution, I would like to greet everyone who has come together here today.

In these times of increasing isolation , it is particularly important that we network and connect, that we form bonds to fight for life. For a life in abundance. Because life needs connectedness, life is connectedness. Without the sun touching the earth with its rays these days, there will be no spring, no new food, no new life.

Aware of our vulnerability and the vulnerability of non-human life, we are committed to a life in abundance for all.

Care is no longer a foreign word. Care is even described as "systemically relevant". Without care, there would be no life. And life cannot be sold or bought. Care cannot actually be a commodity. That is why capitalism makes care invisible or tries by all means to colonise this area for the market and exploit it. At great cost to all living things.

Care is still identified too much with women*. But it is not a women's issue, it concerns us all. Care is a human right. A human right in three forms:

The right to care for others and to be able to do it well.

The right to be cared for by others so that all basic needs are met.

The right to self-care.

We are demanding this right today.

And as feminists, we shout: What we want is not half of the capitalist cake. We want a completely different bakery! We want the Care Revolution!
