1 May (Frankfurt)

Kalender-Icon 01. May 2015
As a member of the Care Revolution network, the Initiative Unconditional Basic Income Frankfurt Rhine-Main has decided to be present at the DGB demonstration and rally on 1 May (9:30 am Guenthersburgpark and afterwards at the Roemer) and to address the issue of invisible work. We have developed a flyer for this purpose and invite you to take part in the demonstration under this motto and thus to move away from the narrowing of the concept of work to mere gainful employment and to recognise and appreciate (very often unpaid or poorly paid) care work as such. This is the first small step towards a human-centred economy and society. You can print out the flyer here: http://bgerheinmain.blogsport.de/2015/04/24/1-mai-tag-der-unsichtbaren-arbeit/Some of us are meeting on Tuesday afternoon to prepare some demo material. If you want to join us, please let me know. We want to hang various objects, some of them labelled, that have to do with care work on a portable clothesline and design a banner with "1st May Day of Invisible Work". So far we are expecting 4 people to take part. It would be great if more people could decide to take part. Please pass this call on to anyone who is interested. Furthermore, the industrial action by nursery school teachers will continue, as no agreement could be reached this week. This struggle also has an impact on the private sector (church organisations). There will probably be a longer strike (only in the public sector) in May. As parents/grandparents, we want to get involved as much as we can. If you are interested, please contact me too. Have a nice weekend! Elfriede
