Rhine-Main

The network in the Rhine-Main region consists of an open group of individuals who are active in various care-relevant areas or who identify with our goals. At the moment, it is particularly caring relatives, people who work in assistance or in hospitals or volunteer with refugees and in children's hospices, who do family work, promote our issues as trade unionists or who are committed to the unconditional basic income. We meet at irregular intervals, approximately every four to six weeks. Interested parties are welcome to attend our meetings at any time.

We are networked with various organisations and initiatives and try to make the idea of the Care Revolution known there. We are a member of the Development Policy Network Hesse, have joined the alliance Mietenwahnsinn Hessen and Mietentscheid Frankfurt, the alliance Frankfurt für Frauenrechte and the alliance Equal Pay Day. Together with the Inclusion Network, we organised the Sea of Lights for Inclusion in Frankfurt in 2017, 2018 and 2019. You can watch a video here. In 2019, we co-organised the Womens March Frankfurt as an alliance partner.

Some of our previous highlights:

In 2016, together with the Catholic Academy Rhabanus Maurus, we organised a theme day on care work entitled UmCare! we organised a theme day on care work, which was attended by around 80 people.

In 2017, in cooperation with the Basic Income Network, we organised a discussion evening on Care-revolutionieren mit Grundeinkommen, for which there is a video documentation and a publication to download here.

In September 2018, we organised an event in cooperation with Frigga Haug and the Berlin Women's Strike Alliance entitled Von der 4in1 Perspektive zum Frauen*streik. Fighting together for a good life for all as a concrete utopia! Find out more here.

We collaborated with the Women's Department of the City of Frankfurt on two events, namely on 28 February 2017 for Equal Care Day and on the occasion of 100 years of women's suffrage at the major conference Generation Dialogues.

In February 2019, we organised a film and discussion evening on Eastern European 24-hour care workers in cooperation with the Evangelical Women's Meeting Centre (EVA) and the Unconditional Basic Income Initiative Group Frankfurt as part of the biannual film series "fern-welt-nah" ("far from the world") organised by the Development Policy Network Hesse.

In March 2019, we took part in the street campaign for Equal Pay Day. In 2020, the campaign was organised online due to the coronavirus. We also took part.

In 2019, we organised an all-day workshop on Equal Care Day in cooperation with the Evangelical Women's Meeting Centre (EVA) and are planning another similar workshop together in March 2022, this time on the topic of care for the elderly. It is still uncertain whether the pandemic will allow an in-person meeting.

The Covid pandemic has severely impacted our work. There are now only four or five of us meeting at different locations and we try to be present at various care-related struggles: Fridays For Future demos, customer meetings on the housing shortage, 1 May actions....
