Care ethics, an ethics of mindfulness, with Elisabeth Conradi

Kalender-Icon 17. February 2017
Political groups discuss care for other people. Research is also being conducted on this topic. There are two directions in the research: on the one hand, care work is analysed sociologically. The question is: Why are some people more likely than others to clean, support and care for others? The demand is made: Care work should be distributed more fairly, support should be utilised according to need. On the other hand, there is also ethical research. Key concepts of an ethics of care are developed here. The focus is on action between people: the practice of mindfulness. People care for each other, cultivate relationships and can rely on each other. However, there is still much to improve: How can relationships be nurtured? How can care and support be organised even better in everyday life? This is more than is usually included in the field of ethics in philosophy. The event is organised by Care Revolution Thüringen together with the Arbeitskreis Kritische Soziale Arbeit (AKS) Erfurt and the educational collective Biko. Further information can be found here.
