Care work: sex work and care

Statements & performances at the Werkstatt der Kulturen, Clubbühne, Wissmannstr.32, Neukölln
Thursday, 21 April 2016 at 19:30 - 22:00Care - being cared for, feeling good, enjoyment. Care work is work with ethical standards. With the well-being of others in mind, it is about more than just being cared for, the desire is to feel good and even enjoy. Because life is more than just living on: But what is it like for the people who do this work? There is often a lack of appreciation of the work, good working conditions and appropriate pay for care work. Under what conditions does this work take place? With rap, spoken word and in conversation, we present insights into the world of work in 24-hour home care and sex work. We bring what is traditionally devalued by society and should be performed free of charge and out of love as women's* labour out of invisibility and onto the stage. On the podium: Sarah Schilliger (sociologist), supports the Respect Network, Switzerland, 24-hour carers in private households(http://respekt-vpod.ch/) Stephanie Klee (sex worker), move.e.V., Education and communication in sex work(move-ev.org/) "Idref" the rapping geriatric nurse from Paderborn, Mathias Düring, intensive care nurse and student, spoken word Emy Fem + Kay Garnellen, sex workers from Berlin with a performance
