1st May in Freiburg - Care Revolution at the family festival

Even in the cosy, tranquil tourist hotspot of Freiburg, there are enough people who are in dire straits or under constant pressure. Because overworking carers, low wages, a lack of nursery and day care places or a shortage of affordable housing also exist here. On 1 May, the groups and organisations that organise information, advice or resistance on these issues traditionally meet at the DGB's May Day festival on Stühlinger Kirchplatz. Many familiar faces and always a few new ones, time for political dialogue and private chats.

As every year, Care Revolution Freiburg organised a stand, this time again together with the Solidarity Healthcare Network. Our 1st May leaflet is also part of our tradition. This time it was about the attempt to connect the big catastrophes and seemingly small, private despair at the circumstances of life. It is necessary and yet so painful in the face of our own weakness. But the history of social movements also includes the realisation: "If you don't fight, you've already lost."
