Rally with Arnold and Nico Schnittger in Berlin

Aktuelles – 09. April 2018 – Action
On 6 April 2018, we welcomed Arnold and his son Nico with a rally in Berlin. Arnold had announced this in an open letter: Mr Spahn, we need to talk! The two were welcomed with a coffee table in front of the Ministry of Health by several Initiaves who are also campaigning for improvements in paid and unpaid care work. All those involved made it clear that we will not allow ourselves to be played off against each other, but will stand in solidarity against profits and cost pressure in all areas of care! The health minister's seat at our coffee table remained empty. But we have drawn the public's attention to the fact that the inhumane care crisis must come to an end. This requires sufficient funding for the health and social care system and enough time and money to care for others and themselves in everyday life. People who are dependent on care and people who carry out care work professionally and unpaid demand good living and working conditions - and this is only possible without the profit logic in care work! Several groups, including Care Revolution Berlin, the Alliance for More Staff in Hospitals, the initiative of caring relatives "Wir pflegen", the Kritische Mediziner_innen and others demonstrated in front of the Federal Ministry of Health. You can find a video on Facebookhere . The Berliner Zeitung also reported on the father and son march.
