UmCare! Socio-political theme day on care work in Frankfurt am Main on 19.11.2016

Aktuelles – 21. November 2016 – Action
It should be an impulse event. People who deal with care work privately or professionally from very different perspectives should have the opportunity to talk to each other and network. Because together - despite contradictions - everything works better. And? As the "Networking and Frankfurt Call" working group put it in their "Blitzlicht": "We are tying the first thread. Now we're getting started. We want to educate and sensitise. We will meet on Wednesday, 11 January at 15:00 in the GFFB, Mainzer Landstraße 349, 3rd floor." There, at the latest, after all the Christmas hustle and bustle, networking with the "newcomers" will continue. Half of the approximately 80 participants, including a group of social work students from Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences, signed the Frankfurt appeal, which - following on from the nationwide network meeting in Hamburg - was distributed to everyone as a charter of self-evident principles. It will help new interested parties to understand what we are all about. And we will use it with political decision-makers and discuss it with candidates at the next elections, for example. The event succeeded in bringing together people who are already committed to the issue as well as those who are newly interested in it. A beautiful, colourful and strong network was created that has already provided impetus for the next political activities during the event.
