10 years of Care Revolution – Register now!

From 18 to 20.10.24 we will be celebrating our anniversary in Leipzig – three days of discussion, dreaming, celebrating and making plans.
There will be panels, workshops, art, culture and parties, as well as plenty of opportunities to meet people.

The Care Revolution network has been actively campaigning for better conditions in care work since 2014. The practices in the network are just as diverse as care itself. We participate in support alliances for struggles in daycare centers and hospitals; we challenge gender norms and the devaluation of unpaid work. We advocate measures such as a reduction in working hours and employment-independent individual social security that take some of the pressure off care workers here and now; at the same time, we advocate fundamental alternatives beyond capitalism and traditional family models. We want to drive profiteering out of the care sector and instead provide care and support for everyone in line with their needs. We bring with us a wide variety of life stories and political ideas; we learn from what makes us angry, exhausted or happy in our everyday care lives; we use scientific analyses, ideas from other countries and a wide range of experiments to become more capable of taking action. We have been on the road as care revolutionaries for 10 years. Time to look back and forward together. Time to exchange knowledge and contacts. Time to share hopes and fears. Time to celebrate small successes and great perseverance. Knowing that we can only really achieve something together, we don’t want to celebrate our anniversary alone: all of you, members, friends, fellow activists, curious people, are cordially invited!

Registration

Please click here to register. Please register by July 31! It is helpful for our planning if you register as early as possible and if you consider your registration to be binding. If you do have to cancel, please do so as early as possible so that we can reallocate any places that become available.

Needs & offers
When registering, you can indicate if you have specific needs, such as translation, barrier-free access, childcare, allergies, etc. We will organize interpreters, childcare, etc. accordingly. Vegan catering will be available.

Accomodation options/sleeping places

The anniversary will take place in Leipzig Alt-Lindenau.
If you would like to sleep in a hostel, we recommend the beautiful Hostel Eden (https://www.eden-leipzig.de/; phone 0049152/25181544; info@eden-leipzig.de). There are twin to eight-bed rooms available at a price of 21 to 33 euros per person/night. When registering, please indicate that you are traveling for the Care Revolution anniversary. You will then preferably be booked into a room with other participants if you are traveling alone or in small groups and do not fill an entire room. Please also indicate whether you would like to have breakfast on Saturday. The hostel will offer breakfast as soon as twelve people have registered for breakfast. On Sunday we will have breakfast together. Unfortunately, the hostel is not barrier-free.

If you would like to stay in a hotel, we recommend the Merseburger Hof (https://www.merseburger-hof.eu/; phone: 0049-341/49252242; email: info@merseburger-hof.eu). An overnight stay costs approx. 50 euros per person/night. If there are no more rooms available, please contact us, we still have some reserved (koordination@care-revolution.org). You will need a breakfast for Saturday. On Sunday we will have breakfast together.

If you need barrier free room, please contact us directly (koordination@care-revolution.org). We have reserved various rooms and can then see what suits you best.

There is also the option of staying overnight with people in Leipzig („Bettenbörse/bed exchange“). You can sign up for this when you register.

Support

We receive funds for our event that enable us to hold the event. To make it a really nice event with a varied program and to enable us to pay appropriate fees for workshops, panels, childcare, KüfA and the like, it would be great if you could make a contribution according to your financial means. If you are on a tight budget or if you are involved in the organization of the event, it is also okay not to donate.
We recommend the following range depending on your financial means:
0-30 € reduced
40-70 € normal
100 € solid

The earlier we receive the money before the conference, the better we can plan. Please transfer the money to the Solidarisch Sorgen e.V. association, which supports our event:
